HP Designjet 1050C replacing carriage belt

Posted in Epson at 10:07 pm by Administrator

When you replace the carriage belt of this printer, be extremely careful about unplugging and plugging of the trailing cable. The connection ends of this cable are very fragile. If you pull too hard, the ends will be in frays. You have to buy another trailing cable which most recently, the listing price is $300+.

Even the new ones are not in too good a shape. You have one chance to put it in properly. If you have to pull it out a second time and you are not careful, be prepared to buy another new one.

Panafax 7000/8000 issues

Posted in Epson at 9:02 pm by Administrator

If your Panafax suddenly gives out a loud grinding noise when it is warming up, it is time to replace the fuser of that unit. Most of the time, the fuser gear is cracked and the whole fuser needs to be replaced completely. Mind you, parts wise and labor wise, to replace this part is not cheap. A new panafax fuser can easily cost you $200+. To replace that fuser, you need to know what you are doing. It is because you are close to take the whole machine apart in order to replace the fuser.  Good Luck. Any questions, you can email us or give us a call.

For all Color Laser Printers

Posted in Epson at 9:48 pm by Administrator

If you find smudges in the printout, most likely
is caused by the toner or the photo conductor
cartridges. For HP printers, the toner/photo
conductor cartridges are one and the same.
For others such as Xerox, Ricoh etc are different.
If the smudges are pink in color, changes the
pick(magenta) cartridge or photo-conductor.
Most likely your problem will be cured.

If you still have problems, check your fuser
assembly.

Re-visit HP4250 Noisy Printer - the Swing Plate

Posted in Epson at 2:23 pm by Administrator

The HP 4250 swing plate nightmare.

Even the OEM Swing Plate cannot hold its own for a year if the printer is in an extremely high volume printing environment. I now incline to recommend a suggestion made by one of the commentators Steve here that techs should consider this metal gear:

 http://www.printertechs.com/tech/assemblies/swingplate/swingplate1.php

Now, I have not used it extensively. So I don’t know its long term effect whether the metal gear, supposely strong, would wear down the other gears it is in contact with or not. Let’s wait and see.

Printer/Fax/Copier Machine faint print problems

Posted in Epson at 8:39 pm by Administrator

For all copier faint print problems, one easy way to
solve it is to clean up all the mirrors and lens. If you
are brave enough, just pull up the copier or any
MFP machines’ cover, unscrew all the screws that
hold on the copier glass. Remove it and clean up
all the lens and mirrors inside. I bet a good 80% of
the time, all your faint print problems will be solved.

HP Color Laserjet 2550N Left side faint print problem

Posted in Epson at 11:58 pm by Administrator

This is a fairly common problem for HP 2550N printers.
The reason for this problem is that your heavy image/
drum unit, due to your constant removal and replacement
because of paper jam, is no longer aligned properly
with the toner cartridges properly - in particular on the
left hand side of the printer. You can do an experiment
in trying to raise or lower the image unit on the left hand
side to see if you can get an improved print.

To cure this problem completely is almost impossible.
You may as well want to buy another color laser.

HP 4250 4350 faint print

Posted in Epson at 4:14 pm by Administrator

Check first with the toner sensor to see if the silver wire
was flattened by your puling in and pulling out of the toner
cartridge first. If you fix that problem and still have faint
print, first replace the DC controller and then the AC
board.

HP 4250 HP 4350 54.1 Error :Remove Sealing tape from Toner

Posted in Epson at 12:30 am by Administrator

We have more and more service calls for this error. The reason is the toner sensor on the left hand side when you open up the printer and pull out the toner cartridge, is dislocated.

The silver wire is the culprit. Reseat the sensor wire, your problem will be resolved.

HP Lexmark Xerox Dell “paper jam” problems

Posted in Epson at 3:55 pm by Administrator

If you experienced a paper jam signal which you cannot remove and you find no paper at all inside the printer, most likely, some users have broken a paper sensor in their effort to pull out the jammed paper.  Start to look for broker paper sensors along the paper path.

Now, occasional paper jam is different. It is more likely from a worn out roller.

But then, you will always find a surprise. There was a time that we found that the constant paper jam was caused by the paper not stacking up properly inside the printer.
